Should you be afraid of being killed by a terrorist?
by Elsewhere inhere is how i view it:
how many people here know someone who died or was seriously injured in a car accident?.
how many people here know someone who died or was in any way injured by a terrorist attack?.

I've got to agree with the monkey, there is just something about someone trying to kill you that is a little different, and shall we say unsettling.
Let's just say I hope I never have to get to the point where i accept terrorism as a daily risk to my and my loved one's existence.

Everytime there is a trinity thread I basically write this same post (I should just go back and cut and paste one but I am a glutton for punishment) and no one hardly ever gives me an answer, and as most here were dubs I am always dissapointed (I was raised dub but never baptized). Here is the point I raised with my parents and anyone else that would listen regarding the issue, the dubs seem to have no trouble believing what I term as 2/3 of the trinity, ie. that the Holy Spirit is God's active force, and it is given personality, it can be sinned against, can be hurt, etc. I mean that's no problem for people to buy, yeah, the Holy Spirit, part of God yet separate, but when it comes to Jesus, oh no, can't go there, what are you crazy, it doesn't make sense.
I would tell dubs, you believe in 2/3 of the trinity so to speak, why is the other 1/3 such a problem? Any thoughts?

There was a thread that asked, convince me of the benefits of marriage. If this is the state of being single and dating I was thinking of cutting and pasting this thread on the benefits of being married thread.

So what was God's address then?
by MidwichCuckoo inso, according to genesis 1v1, ''in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth'' - so what i want to know is if god lives in the heavens now, where did he live before he created them?
was he just renting a place?
maybe his nan's spare room?

James, yours is good advice and well taken.
S, I have not done much reading on either of the topics you mentioned, looks like its time for a Google search.

James, I agree trying to pigeonhole God, or anyone for that matter is an exercise in futility. But it does seem to be in our basic nature to question, don't you think? LOL, see, I just did it, couldn't help myself.

What to do??
by RichieRich inthink about this for a moment.. jws believe that their relentless work now will be rewarded with paradise later.. however, in an effort to get into paradise, many jws do nothing but work, and serve god.
i know my mother does.. so i wonder, what does she think she's going to do in paradise?
what is there that she likes, that will occupy her eternally??.

Hmm, everybody forever young, in perfect health, living in those communal houses pictured in the mags. I think I could get up for that.

S. thanks for the response, very interesting ideas, I'd love to hear the longer version but I get the gist of where you are going with it I think. Again thanks for the response, much appreciated, definitely food for thought.
